Marc Plouzeau touraine ante-phylloxera "clos de maulevrier" 2017
Domaine Marc Plouzeau is nestled in the heart of Touraine, close to the famous town of Chinon. Two generations of winemakers have succeeded one another on this historic terroir. Formerly known as Château de la Bonnelière, the winemaker took over the estate in 1999 and named it after himself. Well aware of the current environmental concerns and with a view to protecting biodiversity, the winemaker cultivates his 30 hectares of vines in accordance with the principles of organic farming. Each parcel receives specific care depending on its needs, to allow the personality of each one to shine through. The vines grow on clay-limestone soils and are cultivated with the greatest respect for the land. In the winery, the philosophy is the same. After harvesting the grapes entirely by hand, vinification is carried out with minimal intervention and sulphur are added in minute quantities. The domain’s ambition is to produce wines that perfectly reflect the terroir and the grape varieties.
