Domaine Rapet Beaune 1er "Clos du Roy" 2021
The Estate comprises 20 hectares of vines in the villages of Pernand - Vergelesses, Savigny les Beaune, Aloxe Corton and Beaune.
Located between Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, the Pernand – Vergelesses vineyard, tucked away in the green surroundings of a quiet valley, begins at the foot of Corton hill.
It’s the only vineyard to offer the whole range of vintages, in both white and red wines. It provides a warm welcome to tourists and enthusiastic amateurs who will really enjoy walking in the valley and taking in the quiet beauty of this spot.
The fermentation lasts 15 days with pigeages, punching down of the cap, allowing the wine to soak up the richness and the colour from the grape-skins before pressing. Ageing takes place in barrels of which 20 % are new. Racking by the means of a bellow eliminates the need for a pump. All these precautions limit handling of the grapes and the wine as much as possible, thus preserving all the richness.
Located north of Beaune, this "climat"* is characterized by a stony, sandy and very filtering soil. These beautiful grapes, always very precocious and well ripened, provide a fruity and incomparable wine accompanied by very soft tannins.
